EKTELON WARRANTY POLICY

EKTELON LIMITED RETURNS POLICY -Extremely effective, high-quality assurance standards are employed by Ektelon to ensure that all of our products are manufactured for optimum performance. Claims for warranty returns will be accepted from authorized Ektelon dealers only.

If you are a consumer, please contact the dealer you purchased the product for assitance.  In the event that an authorized Ektelon dealer deems one of our products to be defective, the following policies have been established to handle such occurances.

RACQUET FRAME AND FOOTWEAR LIMITED RETURN POLICY

Ektelon maintains that its racquet frames and footwear are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. However, for a period of one (1) year for Racquets and (6) six months for Footwear, from the date of purchase by the original retail customer from an authorized Ektelon dealer, Ektelon  will repair or replace, at its discretion, any frame or shoe if found defective provided the defective product falls within the established limited warranty period and guidelines outlined in this section.  Any frame or shoe repaired or furnished as a replacement under this policy will be covered by the policy only for the remainder of the original warranty period. THIS POLICY DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY CONDITION CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, ABUSE OR ERROR IN MAINTENANCE OR HANDLING (INCLUDING DAMAGE CAUSED BY FAULTY STRINGING OR FAULTY REPAIRS PERFORMED BY PURCHASER OR ANY THIRD PARTY). THIS POLICY DOES NOT APPLY TO THE STRINGS OF ANY RACQUET. EKTELON'S LIMITED RACQUET FRAME AND FOOTWEAR POLICY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER POLICIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED AND ALL OTHER POLICIES INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED. IN NO EVENT SHALL EKTELON BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE OR KIND WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE. INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, INJURY OR DAMAGE TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY.

Some states do not allow limitations of implied warranties or incidental and consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This policy gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

DEALER RETURNS POLICIES AND PROCEEDURES

Ektelon policies to our authorized dealers are under the same terms and conditions as warranted to the consumer, except that an approved dealer policy shall be deemed to commence at the date of invoice. If your warranty claim is approved and the specific product model you claimed is  discontinued or no longer available, a comparable product model will be shipped based on Ektelon's discretion. All Warranty claims must be submitted with a proof or purchase receipt from the customer or dealer vailidation and pictures (minimum of two including full product image and close-up of defective area) of the defective product unless prior approval is granted from Ektelon. Upon completion and submission of your claim, you will receive an email confirmation with a Return Authorization Number that your claim is being processed.

PRODUCT WARRANTY GUIDELINES

RACQUETS - Due to the nature of the game, Ektelon racquets are not unconditionally warranted against breakage/cracks. The following guidelines will result in a racquet to be replaced.

Frame crack without excessive wear

  • Diagonal frame cracking, in any area of the frame that has little or no associated visible wear associated is generally a result of a manufacturing defect.  

String Pull-Through

  • A collapse of the racquet head between string holes - as a result of the string ‘pulling through’ the frame - are generally the result of a manufacturing defect.

Racquet Handle or Shaft damage

  • All racquet handle (excluding grip wear) or shaft breakages that have no impact evidence or excessive wear associated to them are generally considered to result from manufacturing defects.


Rattling

  • A racquet may be eligible for replacement if it is not damaged per above and there is a "rattling" sound when swinging the frame.
  • This is probably a result of a piece of material being dislodged inside the frame and floating around. A situation like this may be repaired or replaced by Ektelon at our discretion.

 

NOT COVERED UNDER THE EKTELON WARRANTY POLICY:

IMPACT DAMAGE

  • Cracks or fractures on any part of the frame that are accompanied by dents, scratches or flat spots will be considered as caused by a strong impact on the ground or a sharp corner and are therefore deemed as a result of racquet abuse.

EXCESSIVE WEAR

  • In general terms, breakages resulting from manufacturing defects occur within the early period of racquet use. Breakages resulting after longer term use and characterized by excessive wearing of the paint or frame are considered as normal use with regard to the ‘life’ of the racquet.
  • Bumper and grommet strips are made of high quality Nylon materials and are subject to wear. These can be replaced by local specialist dealers and are not covered as part of this Warranty Policy.

INWARD FRAME CRACKING

  • Inward frame cracking (if not a diagonal frame crack) on top of the racquet is not covered as part of this Warranty Policy.

MULTIPLE CRACKS

  • In general terms, manufacturing defects result in a single frame crack or fracture. Multiple frame cracks are almost always the result of racquet misuse and abuse.

IMPROPER STRINGING

  • All claims pertaining to the string type or stringing of the racquet. Any damage caused to the racquet frame resulting from improper re-stringing or improper mounting of the racquet in the machine or damaged caused by the clamps slipping during the stringing process are characterized by frame cracking, paint chipping or paint scratching on the inside of the hoop. Ektelon recommends that racquets are always strung by certified stringing professionals at specialized dealers.

STRING BREAKAGE

  • Ektelon does not offer any form of warranty on string wear or breakage.

GRIP WEAR

  • Ektelon does not offer any form of warranty on grip wear

RACQUET BUTT CAP

  • The racquet butt cap is generally stapled to the racquet handle. On occasions, butt caps can become lose or detached. This issue can be easily and quickly repaired by removing the grip and either stapling or gluing the butt cap on to the handle.
  • Lose racquet butt caps are not covered as part of this Warranty Policy.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND EXCEPTIONS

DEMO RACQUETS

  • The warranty period for demo racquets shall be (6) six months from the ship date to dealer

FOOTWEAR

  • Due to the nature of the game, Ektelon Footwear is not unconditionally warranted against wear and tear
  • Ektelon does provide a limited warranty for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase to replace, at EKTELON’s option, footwear which is defective in material or workmanship under normal use.
  • This limited warranty applies only to the 1) Premature wear through of the outsole to the midsole of T22 footwear models and/or 2) seam separation due workmanship and not excessive wear of all footwear models

BALLS

  • Double Back Guarantee
  • If any ball breaks before the gold colored label wears off, Ektelon will replace it with 2 new balls. Only balls that that are broken with gold showing on the label will be eligible for replacement. Balls without any gold showing or a "ghost image" are not be eligible for replacement

GLOVES

  • Ektelon Gloves are not covered under warranty

EYEWEAR

  • Ektelon eyewear are not covered under warranty. However, replacement nose pieces and RX Flip lens parts are available for a nominal fee plus shipping by contacting Ektelon Business Services.

Ektelon reserves the right to request that the product be sent to us for further evaluation at Dealers expense. Additional questions or inquiries regarding warranty returns must be submitted to info@ektelon.com.
